CBD Oil For Pain and Inflammation

Are you very active like me? As a result do you occasionally get pain and inflammation? Pain and inflammation is a common nuisance, a pest that won’t leave you alone as a result of hard work. If only there was a way to minimize these stubborn effects, you say. Oh wait there might be.

CBD oil has been proven to treat a plethora of things in my life, one benefit of CBD oil that you see surfacing on the internet time and time again is its effectiveness in treating pain and inflammation.

Lets see how great CBD oil is at treating pain and inflammation.

First, Lets Find Out What Causes Pain

Well Pain and inflammation are usually used in the same sentence and there is a good reason for it because pain is usually caused by inflammation.

Well then what causes inflammation in the body? Let’s ask the experts:

According to WebMD

When inflammation occurs, chemicals from the body’s white blood cells are released into the blood or affected tissues to protect your body from foreign substances. This release of chemicals increases the blood flow to the area of injury or infection, and may result in redness and warmth. Some of the chemicals cause a leak of fluid into the tissues, resulting in swelling. This protective process may stimulate nerves and cause pain.
According to those same experts (WebMD)
Chronic pain can be caused by many different factors. Often conditions that accompany normal aging may affect bones and joints in ways that cause chronic pain. Other common causes are nerve damage and injuries that fail to heal properly.
Now that we got a little education on pain and inflammation (thank you WebMD) here’s what effect CBD has on my pain and inflammation.

My Lifestyle and Pain and Inflammation

I have a huge and competitive family. Ever since I was young I have been involved with sports and dealing with competitive people. I have played every sport known to man among people of different ages, the only way I got to play with people older than me was the three most useful words. I’ll give you a hint they all start with a “P”. That’s Practice!, Practice!, Practice!

All that practice has paid off, but at a price and that price is PAIN. The pain is the worst after an off season. Living in NY we have cold winters and there is not many sports you can play in winter. After lying around all winter it is that first basketball match of the summer that leaves you sore all over for at least three days.

Just recently I had that first basketball match of the season. And yes without fail that same night I started getting sore. I said to myself, “well you have been through this before, time to be in pain for the next few days”

While this has been going on I have been taking CBD oil for other reasons daily. I just started using CBD isolate to see how well it works. I have been using an oil called HEAL by Kat’s Natural’s. Heal comes in a 1500mg bottle, with a suggested use of 3-5 drops 3-4 times a day. I take about 10 drops in the morning and 5 right before I sleep. Heal comes with info that claims to be good for pain.

I took some Heal CBD oil right before going to sleep that night not remembering the claim it makes in treating pain. I woke up the next morning and felt good, the first thing I realized was that I was only minutely sore, it was almost not noticeable. Then I remembered that the heal CBD oil is good for pain. By the next day I wasn’t sore at all. Come to think of it I haven’t had much muscle pain since I have been taking CBD oil (about 4 pleasant months now).

What Other Pain Does CBD Treat?

While I don’t suffer from any other pain excpet muscle pain these are some of the other claims the internet makes:

According to medical news today CBD oil is also effective in treating pain associated with arthritis and multiple sclerosis. While I have no way of confirming this. I would believe it considering that any ailment I have that CBD oil claims to treat it has.

How Does CBD Oil Relieve Pain?

Well CBD oil is a natural anti-inflammatory. As we established before inflammation is a huge contributing factor in pain. CBD works in reducing inflammation, thus reducing pain.

Researchers think that CBD interacts with receptors in your brain and immune system. Receptors are tiny proteins attached to your cells that receive chemical signals from different stimuli and help your cells respond. This creates anti-inflammatory and painkilling effects that help with pain management. This means that CBD oil may benefit people with chronic pain, such as chronic back pain.  –Healthline.com

Conclusion and Other Tips in Reducing Pain and Inflammation

From living with chronic pain I have also picked up some other useful info in relieving pain and inflammation.

First, if you have a sweet tooth like I had, I’m sorry but sugar causes a great deal of inflammation. I used to have painful knots on my back and no amounts of massages would get them out. I decided to follow a strict no sugar diet and I’m surprised to tell you that those pesky knots went away and haven’t returned since.

Second stay hydrated. Water is responsible for bringing nutrients to where they need to go in our bodies, and it flushes out all the toxins.

Third stretch and warm up more before getting involved in physical activities. This allows your muscles to warm up and have blood flow through your system, and get your body ready for your physical activity.

Lastly, use CBD oil, with all the benefits CBD oil boasts it seems like a no brainer. You have nothing to lose but the agony of pain.

I’ve been avidly using CBD to deal with my anxiety, and have been fortunate to do so successfully. I started this blog to share my experience and knowledge with as many people as possible.
