4 Reasons to Try CBD Oil For School [Students Must Read]

CBD Oil For School

CBD oil for school you say?

Have you considered taking CBD oil during the school year?

We have all been there before. It’s the beginning of the school year. It’s almost like the word “hectic” and “school” are synonymous. You can’t go through school without going through some form of anxiety or stress. Whether it’s being subjected to a deadline for a paper due, trying to study for a test, social anxiety from having to give presentations or just the anxiety from having to deal with other people. Let’s see how well CBD oil holds up in this scholastic environment. Let’s also find out if CBD is just as effective as most college student’s best friend (“study drugs”, such as adderall).

I think CBD for students might be a perfect match. Let’s see the benefits of CBD for school.

4 Reasons to Consider Taking CBD for School and One Weird Reason

Reasons to take CBD for school

First Reason

For one thing, going to school is not easy. I’m sure there is no dispute here. Here’s a scenario: A teacher assigns a test which will have a significant impact on your grade, your strapped for time and the anxiety is starting to get to you. The anxiety alone makes it hard to concentrate, everything becomes counterproductive. You wind up procrastinating and getting less done than you should. Why go through all of this. In case you didn’t already know. CBD oil is effective in reducing anxiety. It can bring those stress levels way down, reduce that brain fog and allow you to concentrate on the task at hand.

Second Reason

All this school work and worrying has probably left you with insomnia. Lack of sleep means a lack of ability to function the next day. Sleep is restorative, when we lack sleep, we tend to have a whole host of issues. That’s not good when school is involved. You find yourself the next day in class dozing off, not really paying attention, with a complete lack of motivation.

How does CBD help me with this?

CBD is an effective sleep aid. It promotes restful restorative sleep and helps alleviate insomnia symptoms.

For all you medical majors (or what the heck, for anyone going to school) here are the studies:

A scientific study conducted
(https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29674967) concluded that CBD does not
interfere with sleep/wake cycles. And another study conducted
(https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29997343) in which a group of 409
people were either given CBD or a placebo, showed that the CBD group had a
significant reduction in insomnia (a -4.5 point reduction on a point
visual analog scale out of 10).

Third Reason

Latenesses. CBD oil will prevent you from showing up late to class… just kidding. This one is all on you. Here’s the real third reason:

Class presentations.

Class presentations fall under the category of social anxiety. Standing in front of your peers, with all eyes on you, your teacher ready to judge your every word. That can be pretty intimidating. Don’t sweat it, CBD is also an effective treatment for social anxiety. CBD oil has helped me in my own social situations, I tend to be on the more quiet reserved side, but thanks to CBD and some motivation, I now welcome social situations.

In a double blind randomized study, participants were given either CBD or a placebo. They were then given a simulation public speaking test. They were evaluated on a visual analog mood scale. Those who were administered CBD showed a significant decrease in their social anxiety.

This concluded that CBD is a good pre-treatment for social anxiety in school.

The Fourth Weird Reason

This one is a shocker. Anyone who has tried cafeteria food can attest that it is not very good. Consuming cafeteria food may be accompanied by feelings of nausea.

You guessed it. CBD is an effective nausea treatment as well.

CBD is a natural antiemetic (anti-vomit).

CBD Vs. Study Drugs

CBD oil vs study drugs for school

As a student, one might be tempted–for the reasons mentioned above–to resort to “study drugs”. Let’s see if students should take CBD over study drugs.

Close your textbooks for a second and check out this amazing study on the risks of study drugs:

According to the study, “study drugs” — such as Adderall, Ritalin, Focalin, and Concerta — have mixed evidence as to their effectiveness on improving learning and cognition.

We suggest these drugs do not improve GPA and learning, while they might temporarily increase memory, but with detrimental negative health effects. -NCBI

According to rxlist.com the list of side effects for Adderall are pretty long:

  • nervousness
  • restlessness
  • excitability
  • irritability
  • agitation
  • dizziness
  • headache
  • fear
  • anxiety
  • agitation
  • tremor
  • blurred vision
  • sleep problems (insomnia)
  • dry mouth or unpleasant taste in the mouth,
  • diarrhea,
  • constipation,
  • vomiting
  • fever
  • loss of appetite
  • weight loss
  • loss of interest in sex
  • impotence
  • difficulty having an orgasm
  • increased heart rate
  • heart palpitations

The list of side effects for Ritalin, Focalin, and Concerta are similar to Adderrall’s and just to long to list.

Here’s the good news for those of you thinking of taking CBD oil for school. CBD boasts a low and non-severe side effect profile. This is what was reported in a study of CBD’s side effects in comparison to drugs that were used to treat epilepsy and psychosis:

Here, the most commonly reported side effects were tiredness, diarrhea, and changes of appetite/weight. In comparison with other drugs, used for the treatment of these medical conditions, CBD has a better side effect profile.-ncbi

With this info, I know I would definitely take CBD for school over a study drug if I had to chose one.

Conclusion

CBD oil for school students

Personally I thought school sucked and went through it kicking and screaming. Maybe if I knew about CBD oil when I was going to school it would have been a little more tolerable.

It may not be wise to give CBD oil to minors who are going to school, it is legal, but full spectrum CBD oil’s contain trace amounts of THC (CBD isolates do not contain any THC), that might cause an issue among minors. I would suggest it more for college students who are old enough to make their own decisions. As with any supplement, you should talk with your health provider before taking it, although CBD is generally considered safe and has a low side effect profile.

Now can CBD oil give you an “A+” on those finals? That is a whole other question, but I think that one is all on you.

Have a good CBD school year!
