Reviewing KOI CBD Brand Oil

Koi CBD is one of the more established brands that have been around for a few years now.

If you have been researching CBD oil you probably came across the Koi CBD brand as it is one of the most searched CBD brands. They offer a variety of products and are notorious for their vaping e-liquids.

Does Koi CBD live up to the hype? I try them out and give my opinion. Here’s my honest Koi CBD review:

What is Koi CBD?

The Koi CBD brand sells a variety of products:

• Full spectrum CBD oil oral tinctures
• CBD e-liquids
• CBD pet products
• CBD sprays
• CBD gummies
• CBD lotion

Koi CBD uses the CO2 Extraction Method on their products, which doesn’t leave behind any unwanted chemicals. At first glance, Koi CBD seems to do everything right as far as what a CBD company should do. I compiled a small checklist for CBD products below that Koi CBD largely adheres to:

1. They have high-quality products
2. Their CBD is third-party lab tested with the Certificate available
3. They use the highly critical CO2 Extraction Method
4. Their hemp is grown in Colorado (one of the best places for CBD)
5. They are well established

What Kind of Koi CBD Will I be Reviewing?

I will be reviewing Koi’s most popular product, the CBD e-liquid. More specifically, as far as flavor is concerned, I will be reviewing the Blue Koi CBD (raspberry dragonfruit) and Jade Koi CBD (watermelon green apple sour). Upon ordering the Envi Fit II vaporizer from Koi’s website, you are given a sample cartridge of Koi Blue.

Koi Blue and Jade CBD Flavor

The flavor of Koi Blue and Jade are both excellent and very true to their description. There are no bad aftertastes. You get a nice raspberry flavor with the blue (tastes a little like candy). It is very pleasant.

The Jade Koi CBD has a bit of a stronger flavor than the blue – in a good way. You can instantly taste the green apple, and on the end note, you get the watermelon.

Overall, both flavors are very pleasant.

Koi uses 100% natural CBD isolate (here’s the difference between CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD), natural food grade glycerin, propylene glycol, natural and artificial flavorings.

OK Cool… How Well Does Koi CBD Work Though?

Now comes the part you have been waiting to hear – whether it works well or not.

Koi CBD e-liquid comes in 4 strengths

• 100 mg
• 250 mg
• 500 mg
• 1000 mg

I have had the honor of trying the 500 mg bottle.

*One thing to note when vaping CBD: theoretically, it should work quicker and be more bioavailable then taking it orally because the CBD is going straight into the blood system through the lungs, as opposed to going through the digestive tract when taking it orally.

Another cool note is that if vaping is not your thing, all Koi e-liquids can be safely taken orally using the dropper.

With all that said, for a CBD isolate, Koi CBD seems to be pretty effective. The effects took about 10 minutes for it to be noticeable for me.

It lowered my anxiety to a tolerable level. It kept me calm and overall relaxed. Personally, I felt like this is a very relaxing strain, which leaves you a little tired. It may not be best when you need a lot of energy, but is good for unwinding.

At the 500 mg level, you do have to have a decent smoking session to notice these effects though: probably about 15 minutes of vaping the e-liquid somewhat consistently.

Overall, I was surprised with the effectiveness in comparison with full spectrum CBD oils. The effects don’t exactly reach the levels of full spectrum CBD’s but it gets VERY close to it.

I almost wouldn’t know it was an isolate if you didn’t tell me.

I am really not into vaping, but I find it pretty convenient if you suffer from anxiety to be able to conceal the unit and use it when needed. It is very handy to have around for whenever you need some CBD. 

As an added benefit, when I used some Koi CBD before bed, the time it took to fall asleep decreased and I enjoyed much more restorative sleep.

It works really well for bedtime. It’s real relaxing and you can feel the tension of the day begin to ease away.

A word of caution: Not enough testing has been done yet on the safety of vaping. Current information seems to suggest that glycol in e-liquids – which are used as a thinning agent – when heated up, turn to formaldehyde.

Formaldehyde is not exactly safe to ingest. Plus logic dictates that putting things into your lungs can’t be safe long term.
